Some of the songs we do have a history far beyond anything we can sing in 3 minutes. Here I'd like to share a little information that I find hobo-riffic!

Ain't Misbehavin' - Fats Waller wrote it, Louis Armstrong & Cab Calloway introduced it. You cant beat that!
Sweet Sue - An standard from jazz bands of old. We got it from an old Mills Brothers 78 I found. I love this song!
One Meatball - I first heard this from Dave Brown about 4 years ago & now it's one of our favorites. This one dates back to the amazing Josh White in 1941.
Easy Chair - One of the first songs we started doing over 3 years ago. It's a mixture of a Bob Dylan song & Leadbelly's 'Goodnite Irene'. We throw in an extra verse about ramblin' hobos at the end just for kicks.
Noboy Knows You When You're Down & Out - Matt pulled this one from an Eric Clapton record but it goes way back to Bessie Smith in the '20s.
Georgia - Ray Charles had the biggest hit with it, but the guy who wrote it deserves at least as much aclaim
Stagger Lee - A song dating back to a Civil War folk story about Billy Lyons & Stacker Lee. I got it from a Johnny Rivers album but you should check out the Lloyd Price version from the '60s.
Parchman Farm Blues - I got this song from the same Johnny Rivers album that I got Stagger Lee from. Originaly a Mose Allison tune about Mississippi State Penitentary. Temporary home for Son House & Bukka White among others.
My Blue Heaven - An old Walter Donaldson song & A great Steve Martin Movie.
Frankie & Johnny - Originally 'Frankie & Albert', Frankie later aquited of the shooting & ended up in a mental institution.
Shake Sugaree - Written by Elizabeth Cotton, A folk guitar legend of whom you should learn about.
